Most ATMs for most locations don’t cost anything for the business as Olympia supplies all the equipment and service and pays a commission to the location. Some businesses like to purchase their own ATMs however with costs ranging from $1,000-$5000. Olympia maintains a used and new inventory of various models of ATMs.
The amount of revenue you can make from an ATM depends on transaction volumes at the location and the amount of commission that is negotiated. Generally speaking a location can make between 30% and 100% of the surcharge that customers pay to use the ATM.
ATMs are bolted to the floor or wall and can also be covered with steel enclosures in public spaces to prevent theft. Many businesses install security cameras as well to dissuade potential robberies. ATMs should never be installed near doors or in front of windows where they are in direct sight.
Olympia also provides the Strongbox alarm system which incorporates an extremely loud audible signal and GPS tracking to prevent theft and to improve security.
Olympia can provide reports for a fee however we also provide our customers a username, password and instructions which allow our customers to access a range of reports regarding their machine performance, transaction volumes, amount paid to their bank accounts, etc.
If Olympia owns the ATM, all repairs and maintenance are our responsibility. If a site owns their own ATM, but wants Olympia to maintain it, we can charge an hourly rate plus parts or provide a maintenance contract for service, which is typically $0.15 per transaction, so the customer is never “out of pocket” for repairs and maintenance costs.
